Ayurveda

Ayurveda is one of the world's oldest holistic body healing system emphasizing health longevity and to relieve human suffering. The word Ayurveda comes from Sanskrit which consists of two words Ayus which means Life and Veda which means Science or Knowledge hence Ayurveda means "Knowledge of life". The Ayurvedic healing system has been practiced in daily life in India for more than 5000 years. The Vedas, made up of the Rig, Yajur, Sama and Atharva Vedas in which the ancient scriptural knowledge is found, have been handed down to us generation by generation over several thousand years through oral tradition, before finally being recorded in written form that exists now.

The two principle objectives of Ayurveda are:

"Swasthyas swasthya rakshanam" -To prolong life and promote perfect health

"Aturasya vikar prashamanamcha" -To completely eradicate the disease and dysfunction of the body.

According to Ayurveda, all matter including the Living beings is thought to be composed of five basic elements known as the Panchamahabhuthas Earth (Prithvi), Water (Jala), Fire (Tejas), Wind (Vayu) and Space (Akasha). The human body is composed of derivatives of these five basic elements, in the form of doshas, tissues (dhatus) and waste products (malas). After determining what factors need to be addressed, Ayurveda attempts to treat any illnesses or sicknesses by determining the source or cause, and it does not treat via symptoms. This way, when awareness of what is the source of problem is figured out, we can prevent chronic illness.

A main goal of Ayurvedic medicine is to cleanse your body of undigested food called ama, which can stick to the inside of your body and make you sick. This cleansing process is called panchakarma. It is used to reduce any symptoms and helps to establish harmony and balance.  The physician determines the kind of procedure and the types of medicines to be used after detail examination of the patient.

Panchakarma therapy is performed in 3 stages:

  • Preparatory procedures that help the body discard the toxins present in the stomach and tissues and help facilitate the toxins to move out.
  • Main treatment which is designed as per each individual's constitution.
  • Post treatment care includes the diet regimen and the other dos and don'ts to be followed.

At Pride Health Village, we follow specialized modality and combinations for purification and detoxification of body and mind by using renowned Ancient 'PANCHAKARMAS'.
